What is executive and business coaching?

If you have never experienced the power of coaching before, terms such as executive coaching, business coaching, personal or life coaching can be confusing.  But in simple terms, any coaching is a powerful development tool which enables people to draw on their own knowledge, experience and resources. 

Coaching is a form of personal development, where a qualified coach typically works with a person on a one to one basis to achieve a desired result. Sessions are future focussed and can be centred around goals such as:

  • enhancing personal performance

  • making a career change

  • Improving personal effectiveness

  • taking in on a promotion

  • managing key relationships

  • shifting business skills and behaviours



Through a process of discussion, support and challenge the coach works with the individual to help them move forward. Coaching focusses on the individual’s agenda and supports their achievement of specific personal or professional goals.

Sessions are typically delivered to clients on a one to one basis either in person or by telephone but can also be carried out through group or team sessions.

Learn Coaching Skills

Coaching has become an essential skill for any manager or leader, whether to drive individual or team performance or develop talent and potential.

According to CIPD Learning Survey 2006: “Coaching is an increasingly popular tool for supporting personal development. Almost 8/10 respondents reported that they now use coaching in their organisations. Of these 4/5 say they are seeking to develop a coaching culture”.

We offer a variety of coaching training programmes to suit a range of individual learning needs. We deliver ILM Qualifications at Level 5 & & including Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring.

We also offer short courses in coaching skills training including a 2-day ILM Development Programme – The Manager as Coach.


Private: Short Courses

Our short courses and workshops are offered on a stand alone basis or as complimentary skills in addition to management and leadership development programmes.

Workshops include personal and management skills development in areas including Change Management, Project Management, Foundation Work Skills, Time Management and Wellbeing at Work.

Our short courses can also be adapted and tailored to meet your specific organisational needs and delivered on-house in request.
